Sometimes i just don't remember what i'm living for, I grew up with the idea that every man in the world was born to do something useful to the society, that everything is made as contribution to the cause, and the cause is increasing the level of the community, of the world. Now, just to make it clear, imagine the first men, their villages, when one of them born, he had to hunt or farm or fish, something for the community anyway. You couldn't hear from your 5 years old child something like "I want to be a foot(square)ball player when i grow up!" THERE'S NO "DO STUFF FOR LIVING" IN THE STONE AGE!! (although footsquareball could be cool) there's just "Fucking hunt or die!!!"!!!
And it was good, i mean, back at that time beyond surviving the challenge was surviving to other tribes, so you must do something to make your community stronger, or at least just wealthier, so if you were inclined to hunt, you first learn to use a stone knife then you learn how move right into the forest and to hunt more with less effort then you discover more material to make your weapon stronger, or, if you were inclined to heal people you learn everything about the plants and which one is good or bad, then you learn which one works better and faster and then you can heal more people faster so those people can hunt or fish or farm better, there the whole system focused on progress and it worked. The system grows up, the people within learn more and more and the progress goes on. Until someone forget why he borns and stops helping the society and starts do things with no utility, and someone after him and someone after him and someone after him, and they become millions, millions people doing stupid things, troubling other people, trying to distracting them from the right purpose, polluting all the system with nonsense and stupidity.
Now i'm surrounded by people looking for a job just to have money to spend on the weekend drinking, helping no one but them, but what's the point? At least do something you like! The world is sad because plenty of people doing stuff they don't even like, frustrated by a life they hate, treating everyone as they would treat themselves.
Every decision should be preceded by the question: What's the point? It's useful? It makes you happy at least?" then, act!
